Smartzone Channel Branding

Series of idents we created together with design collective Stuudio Stuudio for a new popular science TV channel Smartzone. The channel focuses on educative, but still playful programming for children. Thinking back on our own childhoods, we were thrown in to the nostalgic days where we tried to solve the puzzles of The Incredible Machine. The game had multiple ways of completing levels and that became the concept for the animation as well. The idents became jam packed with details that bounce, stretch, slide, jump, melt and interact in other ways with eachother — giving the viewer something new to notice even after a while on air.

The Incredible Machine has countless objects that make up the various levels in the game. And so, we started out designing pieces that might fit together and would make an interesting level for the viewer.

Animating this project was one of the most entertaining so far.

Each element played a crucial role in the sequence and had to be timed very precisely.
