Optibet & Nõmme Kalju logo reveal

Optibet is a sponsor of a local soccer team named Nõmme Kalju,  who wanted to promote their company and new visual branding.
The team is powerful and tactical in their play and wanted the logo reveal to convey those qualities. The word Kalju means cliff of a mountain and so making the logo break out of one fit perfectly with the overall concept. To reflect the tactical side of their play, the cliff was made to look like large tectonic metal plates that move in a clean, well executed, machine like way.

The details are slowly revealed to the viewer as the metal plates make way for the elements of the logo.

The design process started in Illustrator where the general layout for the wall was created. The paths were then taken to Cinema 4D.

Starting on look development was fairly easy thanks to Cinema 4D's intuitive tools.

The most enjoyable part of this project was making everything move as one fluid machine. Animating a lot of small and intricate details to get a rich, living world is highly satisfying.

Keyframes for days.

Early tests of camera angles, light setups and textures gave me confidence to continue to develop the look further.

Flavour is added in After Effects with glows, additional lighting, depth of field, motion blur and other small details to further sell the transition to the next scene.

After rendering everything out from Cinema 4D, it was time to start compositing.
